Your information

Privacy

Pencil & Oak currently provides public guides and a browser-based calculator, without visitor accounts, payments, comments, newsletters or on-site contact forms.

Calculator measurements and saved projects

The current calculator processes wall measurements and layouts in your browser. Its project-saving feature uses local storage on your device. It does not send project names, measurements or imported project files to a project server.

A browser save is specific to the browser profile and website address where it was made. It is not an online account or an automatic cross-device backup. Clearing the site’s browser data removes those saves; private browsing or storage restrictions can also affect whether they are kept. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to open them.

You can download a project file to keep your own copy. Opening that file reads it locally in your browser. If you later email or otherwise share the file, you are sharing its contents with the recipient.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The current site has no analytics or advertising scripts, and its application code does not set tracking cookies. Browser local storage for saved projects is separate from cookies.

If analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking or other services are introduced, this page will be updated to describe what is enabled and how visitor information is used. This page describes the site as it works today. We’ll update it when that changes.

Hosting

Pencil & Oak is configured for hosting on Netlify. Requests to the public site pass through its hosting infrastructure and may involve technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages and timestamps used to deliver and secure the service.

Netlify describes its handling of personal information in its privacy statement. This site does not currently load third-party analytics, advertising scripts or embedded social feeds.

Email and external websites

If you contact Pencil & Oak by email, the information you choose to send is used to read, investigate and respond to your message. Sending a project file by email shares that file with us and involves your email provider and the receiving provider. It does not add you to a mailing list.

Guides link to external references and sometimes product information. Those websites apply their own privacy policies and may receive information normally sent by your browser when you visit. Current links do not include affiliate tracking parameters.

Contact details are listed on the Contact page.

Changes to this page

We will update this explanation when features or services change how visitor information is handled. Questions about the current setup can be raised through Contact.
